I tried and had a friend try your instructions for the “Festive Fourth of July Shawl” and neither of us could get past row 2. It seems that row 3 doesn’t work into row 2?? Can you help me? thanks brenda

I am confused. “work in pattern” but which rows make up the pattern? It increases each row, but how much? It goes from row 10 to 17 to 22, etc. I hope you can help me, as I love the shawl but can’t make it with the pattern as is.
Looks like rows 1-4 are the bottom corner.(this is an inverted triangle when done) there are 2 different alternating rows (the one with shell stitches & the one without). The increase is every other row as the alternating rows are pairs that work together. You increase the number of time you do what is inside the [ ] with each new pair of alternating rows. Do rows 6&7 are [ ] x2, rows 8&9 are [ ] x3, rows 10&11 are [ ] x 4, rows 12&13 are [ ] x 5, rows 14&15 are [ ] x 6 and so on until you get to row 75. Change to A or B is referring to changing yarn colors. In this instance it is red and blue, but you could make it any colors you want.
