Amber & Gold Wrap

This wrap is great for any weather with the variety of stitches creating a cool and lacy section and a warm solid section. Add a bit of fringe and you will have the most fashionable accessory in town.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: 10” tall x 45” wide

Gauge: 5 sts and 2 rows = 1” square in dc

Materials

Yarn:

Light Weight Yarn Cascade Roslyn (65% Wool, 35% Silk; 382.76 yards [350 meters]/100 grams): #05-Gold, 2 skeins

Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

The wrap is worked in short rows side by side.

The ch-3 at the beginning of the row counts as the first dc and the ch-4 counts as a dc, ch 1.

Pattern

Ch 53.

Row 1: Work 3 dc in the 5th ch from the hook (first 4 ch counts as dc, ch 1), *sk 2 ch, 3 dc in next ch; rep from * across to last 3 ch, sk 2 ch, dc in last ch.

Row 2: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), turn, *sk next 2 dc, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in first skipped dc; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Row 3: Ch 4 (see Pattern Notes), turn, *dc3tog, ch 2; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, *sk first ch-2 sp, dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, dc in skipped ch-2 sp; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Rows 5-22: Rep Rows 3-4.

Row 23: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across row.

Rows 24-53: Ch 3, turn, working in back loop only, dc in each st across row.

Row 54: Ch 3, turn, *sk next 2 dc, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in first skipped dc; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Rows 55-60: Rep Rows 3-4.

Rows 61-65: Ch 3, turn, working in back loop only, dc in each st across row.

Row 66: Ch 3, turn, *sk next 2 dc, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in first skipped dc; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Rows 67-72: Rep Rows 3-4.

Rows 73-74: Ch 3, turn, working in back loop only, dc in each st across row.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Fringe

Cut strips of yarn 16”. Take 3 strips, fold in half, pull center of strips through end of row, pull end of strips through center loop and pull tight. Repeat evenly on one edge of wrap until desired thickness is achieved. Trim evenly to finish.yarn ball
