Yarn: Premier Yarn Cotton Fair (52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317 yards [290 meters]/100 grams): 27-01 White (1 ball)
Hook: US size F/5 (3.75 mm)
Notions: Tapestry needle, sewing needle, matching thread
Pattern
Ch 4.
Rnd 1: 11 dc in 4th ch from hook, sl st in top of ch-3 to join. (12 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch 6, sk next dc, sc in next st, [ch 6, sk next dc, sc in next st] 5 times. (6 ch-6 sps)
Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-6 sp, ch 3, 7 dc in same ch-6 sp, [8 dc in next ch-6 sp] 5 times, sl st in top of ch-3 to join. (48 sts)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 4, [sk next 2 dc, sc in next 2 sts, ch 4], sc in last st, sl st in first st to join. (12 ch-4 sps)
Rnd 5: Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in ch-4 sp, [ch 6, sc in next ch-4 sp] 11 times, ch 6, sl st in 2nd sl st to join. (12 ch-6 sps)
Rnd 6: Sl st in next ch-6 sp, ch 3, 7 dc in same ch-6 sp, [8 dc in next ch-6 sp] 11 times, sl st in top of ch-3 to join. (96 sts)
Rnd 7: Sl st in next st, sc in next st, ch 8, [sk next 7 sts, sc in next st, ch 8] 12 times, sl st in first sc to join. (12 ch-8 sps)
Rnd 8: Ch 1, [10 sc in ch-8 sp] 12 times, sl st in first sc to join. (120 sts)
Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
Sew to clothing with needle and thread.
Sew center first, then outside edge to hold firmly to fabric.
Although a pretty design and idea, this flower was applied on its wrong side to the garment. There is a right and wrong side in crochet.
The right side is the side you like best unless otherwise specified. I prefer the more finished look as shown here, as opposed to the “keep crocheting” side. Just my personal opinion.
