Light weight yarnYarn: Hoooked Milano Eco Barbante (85% recycled cotton, 15% other recycled fibers, 223 yards [204 metres]/200g: R470 Curry (3 balls)

 

Hook: US size J/10 6.0 mm

Notions: Inner pillow 18” x 18”

Pattern notes

This pattern is worked in rows side to side. Pattern is worked in two pieces then assembled. The pattern is made flat.

The pattern is worked using FPdc stitches to create a honeycomb effect. The FPdc stitches are worked around the FPdc stitches two rows below.

The starting chain does not count as the first st.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 1 (does not count as a st here and throughout), turn, sc 24, *FPdc, sc 3; rep from * 8 times. (60)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc across.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc 22, FPdc around 1st FPdc from prev row, *sc 3, FPdc2tog around previous and next FPdc from prev row; rep from * 7 times, sc 3, FPdc.

Row 4: Rep row 2.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc 22, *FPdc, sc 3; rep from * 8 times, FPdc, sc.

Row 6: Rep row 2.

Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc 24, *FPdc2tog, sc 3; rep from * 8 times.

Finishing

Block your pieces flat so they measure 18” x 18”.

Hold the two pieces WS together.

Join the yarn and sc evenly around 3 sides, with 3 sc in each corner.

Insert the pillow inner.

Sc around the last side and sl st to beg st.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
