Pattern Notes
Both of these patterns are worked with two active loops. To switch between loops, pull the loop on the hook up so it’s bigger, remove the hook, and place a stitch marker in that loop so it doesn’t pull out. Then insert the hook in the second loop and tighten it down on the hook, removing the stitch marker before continuing to crochet with it.
When crocheting the hat, always move the inactive loop to the inside of the hat.
When crocheting the scarf, you will only turn after the even numbered rows, as indicated in the pattern.
On even numbered rows, when crocheting into the skipped stitches of the row (or round) before the previous row, crochet over the ch-2 of the previous row enclosing it in the stitch. This will be referred to as “working around previous row.” “One row below” refers to the row before the previous one.
