Finishing
Block pieces to finished measurements (see pattern notes).
Change Purse and Clutch Embroidery
With C and D, work horizontal and vertical running stitches using diagram as a guide for placement, going in and out of every other row/stitch. With B, work vertical applied crochet lines using diagram as a guide. Sew beg-ch edges of Sides tog using mattress stitch. Sew sides of Sides tog from corresponding dot on template along curved side to lower edge. Pinch corners of bottom tog, bringing bottom and side seams tog. Sew seam to make bottom corner.
Change Purse and Clutch Lining
Fuse interfacing to WS of Lining fabric following manufacturer’s directions. Cut out 2 pieces each for Change Purse and Clutch. Place pieces with RS tog. Sew along red lines, leaving upper edge between dots unsewn. Pinch bottom corners, bringing seams tog. Sew seam, mitering corners. Snip small triangular portions out of top seam allowance (this allows the fabric to fold under without buckling). Press under seam allowance to WS of fabric. Do not turn lining right side out.
Outer Change Purse and Clutch
Sew crocheted sides tog along red lines, leaving upper edge between dots unsewn. Pinch bottom corners, bringing seams tog. Sew seam, mitering corners.
Place Lining inside crocheted piece. Whipstitch top edges of Lining and crochet pieces tog. Place top edge of pieces into purse frame, using pointed object if necessary to help guide in the fabric. Using B, sew through holes in purse frame to secure to assembled Change Purse and Clutch. Weave in ends.
