Pattern Notes

The ch-1 at the beginning and end of each row does not count as a st

The pattern does not use difficult stitches but it can be tricky to keep a tab of which row you are on. I would recommend using a row counter or making a tally chart of your rows with pen and paper as you go.

Row 1: With A, ch 25 (ch should measure 4½” / [11.4 cm]), sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across to end of row, turn – 24 sts.

Finishing

Seams / Bar Tacks

Fold the tie over each side (½” / [1.3 cm]) so that the front measures a width of 2½” / [6.3 cm].

Sew both ends together. If needed you may wish to tack the centre part of your tie to the seam as you go – this can reinforce the tie and help it to maintain its shape. Depending on the yarn you use, you may find that a light press with an iron helps to get the fold. DO NOT apply the iron directly to the yarn. Use a slightly damp cloth over the tie before pressing.

Tie Keeper Loop (optional)

Row 1: Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across to end of row, turn – 12 sts.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch 1 and in each st across to end of row.

Fasten off, but leave yarn for sewing onto the tie back.

Sew the Tie Keeper Loop 10” / [25 cm] from Row 1 on the back of the Tie. yarn ball
