Short and sweet, the simple shaping of this shrug makes it a terrific introduction to both garment-making and filet lace crochet. The filet pattern is completely charted to help you in stitching and the fit is easily adjustable by lengthening or shortening the sleeve seams.

Special Stitches
To increase: While following chart for your size, add 1 dc in third stitch from each edge, incorporating the added stitches into the charted pattern for the following rows. When there are not enough stitches to add a full block, work the added stitches in dc.
To decrease: While following the chart for your size, decrease on st after the 3 dc on each edge, incorporating the new stitch count into the charted pattern for the following rows. When there are not enough stitches to remove a full block, work the odd stitch in dc.
Pattern Notes
Shrug is worked side to side, beginning and ending with 3 rows of plain double crochet, then following the chart for the size you are making.
Stitch diagram does NOT show 3-row cuffs, or additional solid block that should be added at beginning and end of each row for border.
