This basic vest pattern is an easy, semi-cropped V-neck knit construction, made by combining two identical rectangles worked side to side and then seamed together. The colors resemble falling leaves falling on a country path while the mosaic pattern and the type of yarns allows for a gradient and textured autumn palette.

Pattern Notes
This pattern is worked flat, side to side.
The mosaic pattern is a 4-row repeat that keeps MC in Rows 1-2 and changes CC in Rows 3-4.
You can either cut yarn after each color change or carry it up the sides. Once both rectangles are finished and seemed, the hem ribbing is made by picking up stitches along the bottom end. If you have carried up the yarn, this is where you can hide it.
Starting chains do not count as a stitch.

Hi Francine! this is really a good idea! Since the back has a V-shape I think I would pick-up stitches along the V-shape and add increases in the middle (like a “triangle” gusset) to get to the neck. Then I would pick up few more stitches from the shoulders and start the hood bottom-up. I hope that helps! KInd Regards, Cristina
How easy would it be to add a hood?

Awsome!…and easy to crochet…I guess…
The pattern instruction mentions “working from the chart” for the mosaic section. Where can we find the aforementioned chart?
