Beautiful, soft and airy, this stole is big enough to wear around your shoulders and cozy enough to wear as a winter or early-spring wrap.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Size: Holst Gran Coast-Uld/Bomuld: before blocking, 12.5” (32 cm) wide and 62” (160 cm) long; With Drops Fabel: before blocking, 15” (38 cm) wide and 74” (188 cm) long
Gauge: Gauge is not important for this project
Materials
Yarn: Holst Gran Coast-Uld/Bomuld (55% merino lambswool, 45% cotton; 575 yards [525 meters]/75 grams) OR Drops Fabel (75% wool, 25% nylon; 630 yards [575 meters]/150 grams)
Hook: US size D/3 (3.25 mm) hook
Pattern Notes
The body of the wrap begins with a small number of stitches and then gradually increases. After the widest point, the number of stitches gradually decreases until a very long triangle is achieved. Total 134 rows.
Repeat Rows 4-5-6, increasing one stitch every 2nd row, until there are 30 dc across the row (across the growing part of section A).
Work Rows 58 – 81 without beginning the decreases in section A. You will begin the decreases in section A on Row 82.
Repeat Rows 84-85-86, decreasing one stitch every 2nd row, until there are 2 dc across the Row.
When you have 30 dc in body, continue with no increases, until 81 rows have been made. Start the decreases as stated (Row 82) until you have 2 dcs remaining.
Special Stitches
Throughout the pattern, at the beginning Ch 3 = 1 Dc.
Dc2tog: [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops] 2 times, yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook—1 stitch decreased.
Shell: (Dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) all in stated st.
Shell in Next Shell: Make a shell into the ch- sp from the shell in the previous Row.
