Special Stitches

Chainless Foundation: Ch 3, yo and insert hook into 3rd ch from hook, pull up a lp (3 lps on hook), yo and pull through first lp only (still 3 lps on hook), (yo, pull through 2 lps) 2 times – first dc completed.

For next dc, *yo and insert hook into the lps on the side of the last dc (it looks like the top of a normal crochet st of 2 legs forming a V), pull up a lp (3 lps on hook), yo and pull through first lp only (still 3 lps on hook), (yo, pull through 2 lps) 2 times; rep from * for as many dc as you need.

Linked Double Crochet (Ldc): Insert hook through horizontal bar on the post of the previous st, yo, pull up a lp, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps) 2 times.
