Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (100% Acrylic; 364 yards [333 meters]/198 grams): 0512 Turqua (2 skeins)
Hook: US size J/10 (6.0 mm)

Pattern Notes
In basketweave pattern, work BPdc over BPdc of previous row and FPdc over FPdc of previous row.
Stitch pattern is a multiple of 4 sts + 2. To get a slightly narrower scarf, start with ch 34, (32 is 8 times 4, then + 2)
Pattern
Ch 42
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (40 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, FPdc in next st, *BPdc in next 2 sts, FPdc in next 2 sts; rep from * across, ending with BPdc in next st, dc in top of turning ch.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, FPdc in next st, *BPdc in next 2 dc, FPdc in next 2 dc; rep from * across, ending with BPdc, dc in top of turning ch.
Rep Rows 2-3 until Scarf meas approx. 72” or desired length (sample worked 120 rows).
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Finishing
Fringe
Take a piece of cardboard 5” wide and wrap yarn around it for fringe. Cut open on one end, so the pieces meas approx. 10” long.
Use 4 pieces of yarn for each fringe. Fold yarn in half and pull through with crochet hook with the knot to the front of Scarf, working between the 2 FPdc and between the 2 BPdc along each edge. There will be 20 fringes on each end of Scarf.
Weave in any rem ends.
Lightly block if desired.
This scarf has been on my to do list for a long time, and I am finally starting it. I believe that the pattern, as written is not correct. Row 3 is exactly the same as row 2. When turning and working a FPDC over a FPDC and BPDC over a BPDC from the previous row does not create a Basketweave pattern. It creates a ribbing pattern. In order to create a Basketweave pattern, row 3 should start with a BPDC, and then alternate FPDC and BPDC for the repeat. Then the repeat of rows 2 & 3 will give the Basketweave. Otherwise what is the point of saying to repeat 2&3 when they are exactly the same?
