Sweet Cinnamon Table Runner

Materials

Yarn: Knit Picks Brava Sport (100% Acrylic; 273 yards [250 meters]/100 grams): 25671 Wine (CC1, 1 ball), 25675 Orange (CC2, 1 ball), 26371 Almond (CC3, 2 balls), 26382 Hunter (CC4, 1 ball)

Hook: US size E (3.5 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

4-tr-cluster: (Wrap yarn around hook twice, insert hook into the designated st, [wrap yarn around hook, pass through 2 lps on hook] twice) 4 times, wrap yarn around hook, pull through all lps on hook.

Joining dc: Insert hook into the corresponding dc on the previous motif, wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into the next st, wrap yarn around hook and pull through 2 lps on hook, wrap yarn around hook and pull through all lps on hook.

Pattern Notes

The central part of each motif (Rnds 1-5) is alternately worked in CC1 and CC2 and joined as shown in the diagram.

Pattern

Motif 1

With CC1 or CC2, depending on the motif you are working on, ch 8, make a ring with sl st into the first ch.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 16 sc in ring, sl st into the first ch.

Rnd 2: (Ch 3, sk next sc, sc in next sc) 7 times, ch 1, hdc in first ch.

Rnd 3: (Ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp) 7 times, ch 2, dc in first ch.

Rnd 4: (Ch 6, sc in next ch-5 sp) 7 times, ch 6, sc in next ch-2 sp.

Rnd 5: [Ch 3, (sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-6 sp] 8 times, sl st into the first ch. Fasten off.

Rnd 6: Attach CC3 to first ch-3 sp, (ch 3, dc in 3rd dc of previous rnd, ch 5, dc in same dc, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp) 8 times.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, (3 sc in next ch-3 sp, 7 sc in next ch-5 sp, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp) 8 times, sl st into the first ch. Fasten off.

Rnd 8: Sk next 7 sc and attach CC4 in the sp after the 7 sc, (ch 5, sc in same st, ch 5, sk next 6 sc, 4-tr-cluster in next sc, ch 5, sk next 6 sc, sc in next sc, ch 5, sk next 5 sc, 4-tr-cluster, ch 5, sk next 6 sc, sc in next sc) 4 times, sl st into the first sc. Fasten off.

Rnd 9: Attach CC3 in next ch-5 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same ch-5 sp, (ch 5, 3 dc in same ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc on top of the cluster, 5 sc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next sc, 5 sc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next cluster, ch 5, sk next ch-5 sp, 3 dc in next ch-5 sp) 3 times, ch 5, 3 dc in same ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc on top of the cluster, 5 sc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next sc, 5 sc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next cluster, ch 5, sk next ch-5 sp, sl st into the 3rd ch.

Motifs 2-12

Work same as Motif 1 until end of Rnd 11.

Rnd 12: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc in each of next 8 dc, 3 dc in next ch-5 sp, *ch 2, sl st into the corresponding ch-5 sp of previous motif, ch 2, 3 joining-dc in same ch-5 sp, joining-dc in each next 9 dc, sk next ch3, sc in next ch, (ch2, sl st into the corresponding ch-5-sp of previous motif, ch2, sc in next ch-7-sp) 3 times, joining dc in each of next 9 dc, 3 joining 3 in next ch-5-sp; rep from * as long as necessary, otherwise work same as Rnd 12 of first motif.

Border

Rnd 1: Attach CC1 to a corner of the runner, *ch 4, sk next 3 sts, sl st into the next st; rep from * around, sl st into the beginning st. fasten off.

Rnd 2: Attach CC2 to the same st, *ch 4, remove hook from st, insert hook underneath the next ch-4 sp of previous rnd, insert hook into the last ch; rep from * around.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in all ends.
