Here we are in 2024! Love the look of this pattern but it is hard to believe that the sizing for a 24 month old would fit the average adult woman. Looks way too small using either Caron simply Soft or Premier Anti Pilling Every Day worsted.
Would love to see directions for an adult!
Nina Staiger
Hi Nina, at this time we do not have adult sizing for this beanie. As mentioned previously, the mom is wearing the 24 month size but it is indeed snug on her head. – Nicola, Editor
I am experimenting with adding at least 2 extra sc rows before starting the X stitches. Then adding more Sc rows between the two rows of X stitches.
Crossing over to the beginning of the last X stitch has me a little confused but maybe with the original yarn used it was really thin . That yarn is no longer available.
Wonder what would happen if I used Red Heart SS in Minty green using the directions for the 24 month size? I am making a scarf in that color right now.
I would just be sure to check the gauge and check the stretchiness of yarn when worked up in this pattern. Happy crocheting! – Nicola, Editor
You have suggested making one for the child and yourself, but there is no sizing for an adult pattern??? Is there one but just not on this page???
Hello! I’ve reached out to the designer for advice and she or I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks! – Nicola, Editor
Hi Anna! I checked with the designer and the hat the mom is wearing in this photo is actually the 24 months size! It looks a little snug, so I would recommend going up a hook size for adult sizing. Hope that helps! – Nicola, Editor
