Bright and Early Hexagon Pillow

Saying goodbye to winter blues will be easy with this pillow on your favorite chair. Each motif is crocheted separately in vibrant colors and are connected by following the included charts.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: Approximately 18” square

Gauge: Finished Motif A = 5” [12.5 cm] from point to point across center

Materials

Medium weight yarnYarn: Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton (100% Cotton; 180 yards [165 meters]/ 100 grams): White (MC, 2 balls), Coral (CA, 1 ball), Buttercup (CB, 1 ball), Mango (CC, 1 ball), Pistache (CD, 1 ball), Turquoise (CE, 1 balls)

Hook: US size 7 (4.5 mm)

Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle, 18” pillow form

MR = magic ring

Pattern Notes

Beginning ch 3 counts as dc.

Work pattern instructions as follow:

Step 1: Make all motifs using the Motif Key and Motif Patterns.

Step 2: Arrange motifs using the included Color Chart.

Step 3: Assemble motifs by using the tails leftover from the final row/round to whip stitch motifs together through the back loop only.

Step 4: Fold fabric in half at point indicated by the dotted line on the Color Chart.

Step 5: Using MC, create a sc seam along two sides of fabric. Insert 18” pillow form, then finish sc seam on remaining side of pillow.

Motif Key  

This key indicates how many of each motif to make using the contrasting colors. For example, for Motif A, make 3 motifs in CA.

Rnd 1: With MC, in MR ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of starting ch-3.

Rnd 2: With AC, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same st, *ch 1, sk next dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next dc; rep from * to last st, sk next dc, ch 1, join with sl st in top of ch-3.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sp**, ch 1, 2 dc in next sp; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, ch 1, join with sl st in top of ch-3.

Rnd 4: With MC, ch 3, dc in same sp, *ch 1, 2 dc in next sp, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sp**, ch 1, 2 dc in next sp; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, ch 1, join with sl st in top of ch-3. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Motif B

Row 1: With MC, in MR ch 3, 6 dc in ring, turn.

Row 2: With AC, ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, sk next dc, [(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next dc, ch 1, sk next dc] twice, 2 dc in last dc, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, *ch 1, 2 dc in next sp, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sp; rep from * once more, ch 1, 2 dc in next sp, ch 1, sk next dc, 2 dc in last dc, turn.

Row 4: With MC, ch 3, dc in same st, (ch 1, 2 dc in next sp) twice, ch 1, *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sp, ch 1, (2 dc in the next sp, ch 1) twice; rep from * once more, sk next dc, 2 dc in last dc.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Motif C

Row 1: With MC, in MR ch 3, 6 dc in ring, turn.

Row 2: With AC, ch 3, *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next dc**, ch 1, sk next dc; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in last dc, turn.

    I have the motifs finished and now I’m ready to put it together and I don’t have or see a chart to follow. That’s why I’m in your website to get a chart or diagram to follow. Please inform me. It’s not included in your instruction/patterns.
