Pattern Notes
This pattern is worked in the round from the top down. It begins in a hexagonal shape with 6 corners. After round 8, two corners are worked through and it is changed to a square shape. After working the upper portion, the two long sides are skipped to create the skirt. Sleeves are seamed a little at the end to create sleeves.

I am just reading the pattern. Is this dress worked in the round without having to sew anything? That would be a dream come true.
Hi! From the pattern notes, the only part that is seamed are the sleeves: This pattern is worked in the round from the top down. It begins in a hexagonal shape with 6 corners. After round 8, two corners are worked through and it is changed to a square shape. After working the upper portion, the two long sides are skipped to create the skirt. Sleeves are seamed a little at the end to create sleeves.

Hi,
Please clarify round 1. Does this mean: ch 118 then fix in each chain?
Rnd 1: Fdc 118 (142, 166, 190, 214), sl st to top of first fdc taking care not to twist.
From the designer: It means foundation double crochet 118 (142, 166, 190, 214), then sl st to join, taking care not to twist. The designer has a tutorial on her website if you need a refresher: https://www.jessieathome.com/foundation-crochet-stitches/

I’m working on this dress right now and loving it. I would like to suggest that the start and end of Rnd 5 of the skirt should be changed so that it is not awkward to do the repeats at Rnd 6-7 and then again at Rnd 8-27. I think it should start with [Sl st, dch2, ch 1] and then end with [2 dc in same ch-1 sp as dch2, sl st to top of beg dch2 to join] so that the next round (whether round 4 or round 3, depending on what part of the skirt is completed) can easily be started.
Hello! I’ve reached out to the designer for advice and she or I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks! – Nicola, Editor
Would love to make, but what about hip size?
Hello Dorothy! I’ve reached out to the designer for advice and she or I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks! – Nicola, Editor
From the designer: As far as hip size goes – If you choose the right size based on the measurements listed, they should be fine. I used the CYC measurement standards for the design.
