Pattern Notes
Flowers are crocheted first and then joined together when completing edging rounds.
After outer petals are worked together, then inner petals are joined when weaving in ends.
To make sure crocheted piece will fit top, lay out piece along top after joining half the number of flowers with the first round of the outer edging. Test to see if this length will reach from front center to back center. Adjust number of motifs accordingly or extend length of straps, making them longer than the straps that came with the top.

Using sewing thread and sewing needle, sew top edge of crocheted piece along top edge of top.
In the same manner, sew the sc round of the outer edge of the crocheted piece to the top.
Remove fabric straps from top.
This looks like a fabric sewn top not crocheted.
Hi Peggy! This is a pattern that adds crochet to an existing fabric top. The upper portion of this top/straps are crocheted. Happy crocheting! – Nicola, Editor
