Looking forward to spring beach days? Us too! The white caps on turquoise blue waves inspired this cardigan that features unique lace stitches in a wavy pattern that lets whatever color shirt you wear underneath show through. We’re partial to ocean blues, but this cardigan looks wonderful paired with coral, green and lilac shades too.

Buttons are then added to complete the garment.
When following * to ** repeats, when ** is found after a bracket ie; ‘]** 2 times’, the stitch in the bracket should only be repeated once. When found as ‘] 2 times **’, repeat times stated in bracket.

Right Front is a mirror image of Left Front, complete as for Left Front reversing all shaping; replacing ‘sc2tog’ at the end of the row with ‘sl st in second st’ at the beginning of row.
Refer to chart for guidance, making beginning chain stitches equal to Left Front at armhole edge; for example dc = 2ch, tr = ch 3, working one st length less on these beginning ch sts at armhole edge for shaping.

This was a fun cardi to make and it is very pretty. HOWEVER, it is better suited for the less curvy. You see how in the photo it closes at the top but a gap increases down the cardi? This is how it looks on me. I couldn’t button it at the bottom if my life depended on it, and if I could the top part would be too big. The top part fits perfectly…but I could have used a tapering effect from a wider bottom to a narrower top. I don’t know if I am explaining myself well. Bottom line, I am just not built for this pattern. Nonetheless…enjoyed making it.
