Metallic Lace Wrap

This glitzy piece is the perfect accessory your holiday ensemble needs, and it’s so easy to work up. Simply crochet half the wrap and the edging before rejoining your yarn at the beginning and working out the other way. Pair this with a simple black dress for effortless glam.

Size: 16” x 50”

Gauge: 2 pattern repeats = 5”

Materials

Yarn:

Lace Weight Yarn Knitpicks Gloss Lace (70% wool, 30% silk; 440 yards [402 meters]/50 grams): Port (2 hanks); Kreinik Twist (273 yards [250 meters]): #273 Red/Orange (3 cones)
Hook: US size 0 (1.5 mm) steel hook 

Special Stitches

Shell: (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) in next ch-sp. 

Edging

Row 1: * Ch4, skip next dc, sc in next dc; repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 2: Ch3, * shell in next ch-4-sp; repeat from * to end.
Row 3-6: Ch 3, * shell in next shell; repeat from * to end. Fasten off.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in rows. When half the wrap is made and the edging worked, fasten off then reverse the piece and work the same way on the other side.

Pattern

Hold yarn and metallic thread together and ch 109. Follow the chart below 7 times (23”) or follow instructions below.
Row 1: Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip next 2 chs, dc in next ch, ch 4, skip next 4 chs, (dc in next ch) 3 times, ch 4, skip next 4 chs, dc in next ch, ch 2, skip next 2 chs, dc in next ch; repeat from *. End with ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in last ch. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 5, * dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in next dc, ch1, 3 dc in next ch-4-sp, ch 3, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch-4-sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp; repeat from *. End with dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in last ch. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 5, dc in next dc, * ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in next dc, ch 3, skip next ch-1-sp and 2 dc, dc in next dc, ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3, skip next 2 dc and ch-1-sp, dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in next dc; repeat from *. End with ch 2, skip next ch-2-sp, dc in last ch. Turn.

Rows 12-71: Repeat rows 2-11.
Switch to edging and work as instructed. Fasten off.
Turn work upside down. Work the pattern again on the other side and repeat the above instructions until piece is 50” long.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Block wrap to size.

    This really applies to all your patterns: I love being able to download/print the patterns! But I request respectfully two improvements to this process:

    1. The download files contain all the photos of the project, not just the primary photo. The close-ups and alternate angles are always helpful, but aren’t included.

    2. It would be most helpful if any ancillary items, like charts and schematics, were included in the download file as well. I recognized they can be downloaded separately, but if they have to be kept separate, putting all the pattern files together in one zip file might make it easier for the crocheter to have the files all in one place.
