Forget Me Not Shawl

Soft as a cloud, light as a feather and with fabulous drape, this shawl features a subtle allover lacy stitch pattern and an open scallop border. It would be lovely to wear for a summer wedding or a walk in the park.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: Approximately 74” wide x 26.5” center spine height, blocked.

Gauge: Rows 1-6 = approximately 8” [20 cm] wide and 3.5” [9 cm] center spine height, blocked. Note: Gauge matters if you are making shawl to the finished size, with the specific yarn listed. If your gauge is looser, you will not have enough yarn to complete the shawl and may want to consider purchasing an extra ball to ensure you will have enough.

  • I love your Magazin but it’s so difficult to work from a written pattern, especially this one. If you can’t include a chart, could you maybe include a close up picture of the 1st five rows of this shawl? That would help a lot , thank you xx

  • Hi Shirley,
I’m so sorry you’re having problems with the pattern, but will try my best to help.
So you should have 7 dc-cl on Row 1, right? Now turn your work. For Row 2, I’ve listed the sts that are worked into each of the 7 dc-cl, starting with the first one…
    1) 1 sc and 1 beg edc-cl
    2) 1 edc and 2 dc
    3) 2 dc
    4) 3 dc
    5) 2 dc
    6) 2 dc and 1 edc
    7) 1 edc-cl
I hope this helps and that your st count on Row 2 came out perfect!
    Kindest regards,
    Sharon

Is the beginning stitch count for row 1 of the pattern correct? There are not enough stitches to do row 2. I would love to make this shawl. The pattern is beautiful!

      • Hi Shirley, I’ve had problems with the shawl as well. So, the 1st row is 7 times a dc-cluster , leaving you with 7 stitches to work into. Then continue with row 2 , see below.
