Simple crochet mesh creates this flowing and easy-to-wear poncho. Rounds are worked turned and the last half of the body has slits along the front sides to make it easy to belt or tuck into a skirt or trousers. The swingy loose fit makes this a garment you will delight in wearing as the season changes.

Pattern Notes
This poncho is worked top down in turned rounds. First a tube is worked off the sides of the stacked rows foundation for the cowl, then the body is worked with 6 increases around the base of the tube with 4 increases being dropped once the shoulder shaping is finished.
In the lower body, 2 splits are marked and work proceeds in 2 sections of turned rows to bottom hem. Single crochet edging is worked for a clean finish.
Stitch markers are very important for following this pattern. 6 in one color for regular increase points, 2 in different color for splits at front of lower body.
