Sun-kissed Wave Infinity Scarf

Light summer scarves are a great way to spice up your summer wardrobe, and this open and airy infinity scarf will certainly do the trick. The blend of colors have the same effect as the sun reflecting off an ocean wave, while the Solomon’s knot crochet technique gives the scarf a unique look.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: 8” wide x 50” long before seamed

Gauge: 16 sts and 12 rows = 4” [10 cm] in sc

Materials

Yarn:

Light weight yarn Cascade Ultra Pima (100% Pima Cotton; 220 yards [200 meters]/100 grams): 3805 Colony Blue (MC), 1 hank; 3727 Sky Blue (CC1), 1 hank; 3752 Coral (CC2), 1 hank

Hook: US size I/9 (5.5 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Solomon’s Knot (SK): Pull up a loop on hook to approximately 1″, ch 1, insert hook under leftmost loop, sc to close the knot.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked flat and then seamed to form an infinity scarf.

Leave long yarn tails at the beginning and each color change to seam the scarf at the end.

Pattern

With MC, ch 167.

Row 1: Work 1 SK, sk next 6 ch, dc in next ch, *work 1 SK, sk next 3 ch, dc in next ch; rep from * across, turn – 41 SK.

Row 2: Ch 3 (count as dc), *work 1 SK, sk next 3 sts, dc in next st; rep from * across, ending with dc in t-ch, turn – 41 SK.

Rows 3-5: Rep Row 2.

Fasten off MC. Join CC1.

Rows 6-10: Rep Row 2.

Fasten off CC1. Join CC2.

Rows 11-15: Rep Row 2.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Finishing

Bring the short ends together so that the beginnings of Rows 1-15 meet the ends of Rows 1-15.

Whip stitch to sew ends together using yarn tails.

Weave all ends. yarn ball
