Purple Paradise Scarf

Gauge: Rows 2-17 = 6 ¾”, 1 dc row and 2 ch lp rows and 1 cl st row = 2 ½”, 12 dc = 2 ¼”, 3 cl sts with ch 2 lps between = 2”.

Light Weight Yarn Knit Picks CotLin (70%Tanguis Cotton, 30% Linen; 123 yards [112 meters]/50 grams) #24836 Lilac (3 skeins)

Hook: US size E (3.5mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle.

Stitches used: ch, slst, sc, dc, 2dc cl (double crochet cluster), 3 dc cl (double crochet cluster)

Pattern Notes

Scarf will probably need some blocking when done. However, due to the nature of this yarn and stitch pattern, the ch lp row areas, especially at either end of the scarf, do tend to flare out a bit.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from the hook, *ch 5, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across row, ending with sc worked in the last ch, turn. (7 ch lps)

Row 2: Ch 5, sc in first ch lp, *ch 5, sc in next ch lp; rep from * across row, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc, turn. (8 ch lps)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 5, sc in next ch lp; rep * across row, ending with sc in 3rd ch of the last ch lp, turn. (7 ch lps)

Row 4: Ch 2, 2 dc cl in first st, ch 2, sc in first ch lp, ch 2, *3 dc cl in next sc, ch 2, sc in next ch lp, ch 2; rep from * across row, ending with 3 dc cl in last sc, turn. (8 cl sts)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in top of first cl st, *ch 5, sc in top of next cl st; rep from * across row, turn. (7 ch lps)

Row 6: Ch 5, sc in first ch lp, *ch 5, sc in next ch lp; rep from * across row, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc, turn. (8 ch lps)

Row 8: Ch 3, 3 dc in first ch lp, 4 dc in each ch lp across row, ending with 3 dc in last ch lp, dc in last st, turn. (28 dc)

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 3, sk next 3 sts, sc between the last skipped dc and the next dc, *ch 3, sk next 4 dc, sc between the last skipped dc and the next dc; rep from * across row, ending with sc in last st, turn. (7 ch lps)

Row 10: Ch 5, sc in first ch lp, ch 2, *3 dc cl in next sc, ch 2, sc in next ch lp, ch 2; rep from * across row, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc, turn. (6 cl sts)

Row 11: Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 4, sc in top of first cl st, *ch 4, sc in top of next cl st; rep from * across row, ending with sc in 3rd ch of end ch 5 lp, turn. (7 ch lps)

Rows 12-15: Rep Rows 8-11.

Rows 18-167: Rep Rows 2-17, 9 times, then rep Rows 2-7 once more.
