Pattern Notes

This easy scarf is worked lengthwise in one piece in double crochet stitches.  Use the same gradient yarn colorway as both the main color and contrast color yarns, one cake as the main color and a second cake as the contrast color.  Begin crocheting from the center or darkest color of each cake.  The main color yarn is used for 10 rows before the first contrast color section begins, creating an offset so the main and contrast colors don’t blend.

The starting ch 3 counts as a dc.  Work is turned after each row.  To change colors from main color to contrast color, yarn over with the contrast color to finish the last main color stitch.  Carry both yarns throughout Rows 11-22.  No need to carry the main color yarn across the last section of contrast color yarn in Rows 11-22, just pick it back up in the next row.
