Pattern Notes
Each towel is worked from the bottom up.
When working stripes, do not cut yarn when changing color. Instead, carry unused color up the side edge of work.
When changing color, make last yarn over of stitch with new color, pull through remaining loops on hook.
Do not chain one at beginning of rows. Instead, raise loop on hook to height of single crochet, then work into the first stitch of row.
Kitchen Towel Pattern
Begonia Towel
With MC, ch 38.
Row 1 (RS): Sc in back bar of 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (37 Sc at end of this row)
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first Hdc here and throughout), Hdc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Sc in first st, [FPdc around next st, Sc in next st] across, turn. (19 Sc, 18 FPdc at end of this row)
Row 4: Sc in each st across.
Row 5: Sc in first st, [FPdc around post st 2 rows below, Sc in next st] across, turn.
Row 6: Rep Row 4.
Rows 7-32: Rep Rows 5 and 6. At end of Row 32, change color to CC1. Do not fasten off. (See Pattern Notes)
Rows 33-62: Rep Rows 5 and 6 in color pattern:
Rows 33-34: CC1, Rows 35-36: MC, Rows 37-38: CC1, Rows 39-40: MC, Rows 41-42: CC1, Rows 43-44: MC, Rows 45-46: CC1, Rows 47-48: MC, Rows 49-50: CC1, Rows 51-52: MC, Rows 53-54: CC1, Rows 55-56: MC, Rows 57-58: CC1, Rows 59-60: MC, Rows 61-62: CC1. Rows 63-64: MC. At end of Row 64, change to CC1. Fasten off MC.
Rows 65-96: Rep Rows 5 and 6, turn. Do not fasten off.
Hanging Loop
Row 1: Ch 20, sl st in first Sc of Row 96, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sl st in back bar of each ch around loop, sl st in first Sc of Row 96. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in loose ends. Block to stated measurements.
