Driftwood Wind Chime

Bring a peaceful coastal feeling into your home with this super-fast wind chime project. Crocheted sea creatures are hung from a piece of driftwood with seashells attached to the end of each chain which helps add weight to this must-have handmade décor.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: Ornaments are between 2.75-3.75” / [6-9 cm] diameter, chain length varies depending on your desire, (shown with 10-14” (25-35 cm) long chains – measured without seashells)

Gauge: Crab Rnd 3 = 2.5” [6 cm]

Materials

Medium weight yarnYarn: Garnstudio DROPS Paris (100% cotton; 82 yards [75 meters]/50 grams): 17 Off White (1 ball)

Hook: US size E/4 (3.5 mm)

Notions: Removable marker, tapestry needle, seashells in different shapes, piece of wood to hang the ornaments

Pattern Notes

The beginning ch-2 doesn’t count as a stitch.

For a tight, no-hole result make back loop hdc into the back loop and into the middle loop at the back of the stitch.

Gauge is not critical to this project. it can be crocheted using any weight yarn working with smaller hook than recommended.
