Pattern Notes

This cushion cover is worked in rows from side to side. The cushion cover is worked in three parts, which are seamed together to create the final cover. When working with multiple colors in a row, carry the yarn that you’re not working with along the back of your work.

Cushion Cover Button Flap

With D, ch 42.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 40 sts. Turn work. (41 sts)

Rows 2-9: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 40 sts. Turn work. (41 sts)

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, *(sc, ch 6, sc) in next st (creates buttonhole), sc in next 6 sts; rep from * 4 more times. (46 sts)

Fasten off.

Weave in loose ends.

Cushion Cover Assembly

Follow Assembly Diagram.

Block pieces to size and shape.

Seam the bottom of Row 1 of the first Cushion Cover Piece to the bottom of Row 1 of the Button Flap. Place the 2nd Cushion Cover Piece on top of the previous Cushion Cover Piece, sliding it in underneath the Button Flap.

Seam along the ends to join all the pieces together, leaving only the side where the Button Flap was previously seamed to the first Cushion Cover Piece un-seamed, leaving an opening to insert cushion.

Finishing

Sew 1 button beneath each buttonhole.

Weave in all ends. Block cushion cover to size and shape.
