Block motifs to measurements. Thread yarn into tapestry needle and with ws of each motif facing, seam motifs together on one side.
Bottom Edge
Row 1: With WS facing, attach yarn with sl st in flo of right hand corner. Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdcflo in next st, *pufflo in next st, hdcflo in next 2 sts. Rep from * across, ending with hdcflo in final st. (13 pufflos, 29 hdcflo)
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), *puffblo in next st, hdcblo in next st. Rep from * until one st remains, hdcblo in final st. Fasten off. (20 puffblos, 22 hdcblo)
Top Edge
Row 1: With RS facing, attach yarn with sl st in blo of right hand corner. Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdcblo in next st, *puffblo in next st, hdcblo in next 2 sts. Rep from * across, ending with hdcblo in final st (13 pufflos, 29 hdcblo). Sl st into top of initial ch 2 of row for working in the round.

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdctog around. (21 sts)
Rnd 4: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc, ch 1), sk 1 st,* hdc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st. Rep from * around, ending with hdc in final st, ch 1, sl st in second ch of initial ch-3 (11 hdc). Fasten off.
Finishing Instructions
Weave in ends.
Making Top Tie
Ch 50. Fasten off. Thread one end into tapestry needle and with rs of cozy facing, weave into Rnd 4. Trim ends, if necessary.
Place cozy on French press and, with side opening aligned with French press handle, tie top snug. Mark position of buttons along right side opening with straight pins. Remove cozy and sew buttons to side of cozy. Sew additional decorative buttons along top edge of final row of motifs. Place cozy back onto French press and button closed at side using natural space along final round of left hand motif corresponding to each button.
Very cute pattern, thank you. The yarn you used has been discontinued. I am not used to using specialty yarns. I typically just use a worsted weight yarn. Could you suggest some other yarns that would work? Thank you.
