Star-Spangled Dishcloth

Worked in single crochet rows following a chart for the color changes, you’ll be able to practice your tapestry crochet technique using this beautiful pattern.  Carry the second color across the blue stitches as done in tapestry crochet technique.

Skill level: Intermediate

Size: Approx 8” x 8”.

Gauge: 11 sc and 11 rows = 3” [7.62 cm].

Materials

Medium weight yarnYarn: Peaches & Crème (100% Cotton; 120 yards [109 meters]/70.9 grams): #11095 Red (A, 1 ball), #11005 White (B, 1 ball), #11746 Navy (C, 1 ball)

Hooks: US size H/8 (5.0mm)

Notions: Large eye tapestry needle.

Pattern Notes

All rows are worked in sc only. From Rows 4-23, carry either A or B across with the C sts using the tapestry crochet technique.

Pattern

With A, ch 26.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (25 sts)

Rows 2-26: Follow chart for color changes. At the end of Row 26, drop A and pick up B.

Border

Rnd 1: Sc in each st across and end of each row with 3 sc in each corner, join in first st.

Fasten off.

Rnd 2: Pick up B, sl st in each st around, join in first st.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in all ends.

    some of the patterns I might would like to do. however, I am not going to sit at the computer and do them. is it possible to print them so they could be done while sitting in the evening, maybe watching t v? particularly maybe a sweater.
