The Vanilla Marshmallow Chunky Cowl is a super cozy and squishy project that uses a combination of basic stitches and post stitches for maximum texture. Beautiful striping shows off the stitch pattern and a button closure gives the wearer maximum adjustability. Gauge: 4 rows of pattern = 4” [10 cm]

Materials
Yarn: Bernat Blanket Solids (100% Polyester; 220 yards [201 meters]/300 grams): Dark Grey (A, 1 ball), Vintage White (B, 1 ball)
Hook: P (10 mm)
Notions: One button (1.5” wide), tapestry needle, scissors
Pattern Notes
Cowl is worked as a rectangle.
A button closure is added to give the wearer plenty of options for styling the cowl.
For sample, switch colors after each 2-row pattern repeat for the striping effect.
Pattern
Ch 26 (multiple of 3 sts + 2).
Row 1 (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 2, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *2 dc in next ch-2 sp, fpdc around next sc; rep from * across to last ch-2 sp, dc in last sc, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first dc, *ch 2, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc; rep from * across to last fpdc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, sc in top of tch, turn.
Rep Rows 2-3 until piece meas 34” long from starting edge, switching color after each 2-row pattern.
Finishing
Weave in any ends.
Sew button to bottom left corner of the starting edge.
