Hook: US size M,N/13 (9.0 mm) hook
Notions: Yarn needle, button (optional)

Pattern

Cowl

Rnd 1: Ch 60, sl st to join, being careful not to twist the chain.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in each stitch around, sl st to join.
Rnd 3: Ch 2 and turn, working in the back side of the loop only, dc in each stitch around, sl st to join.
Rnds 4-14: Repeat Rd 3.
Rnds 15-16: Ch 4, skip the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch.
Slip stitch to join and fasten off.
Weave all yarn ends into the finished work.

Flower

Working with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn, ch 50.
Sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook, and in each stitch of the chain.
Fasten off with a 20 inch long yarn end.
Thread the yarn end into a needle, starting at the opposite end, roll the chain into a spiral, stitch on the back to hold all the layers together. (Pass the needle through the center coming out the opposite side, repeat back and forth in a clock-wise motion, until all the layers are attached together.)
Attach to the cowl.
