Finishing

Blocking

To open up the design of the cowl it will benefit from being wet blocked.

Completely soak Cowl in cold water, then gently squeeze (without wringing it) out some of the excess water.

Using tape measure and pins, carefully pin Cowl on blocking board.

Double check measurements if necessary (e.g check the height and width are correct).

Leave to dry completely over 24 hours and then unpin.

Using yarn tail, whipstitch Row 96 to Row 1 to join.

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

I made a cowl following this pattern. The hook I used was too small, but I finished it. Doing another, using size H-5.00mm; this allows a softer fabric. I am disappointed that we don’t have more discussion.

In row 2 on the last line of pattern, I don’t understand how to interpret “3 tr”. I am trying 3 dc—seems about right, but I don’t want to run into problems if 3 dc is not correct. Help?
