Double Woven Throw

Holding two strands of yarn together means you can make this two-strand throw with a woven look in half the time! Choose any two shades of yarn that will accent your surroundings and enjoy!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: Throw measures 68″ long x 45″ wide (172.5 x 114.5 cm)

Gauge: 9 hdc = 4″ (10cm); 5 rows = 4″ (10cm) in hdc cl pattern

Materials

Yarn: Red Heart Soft (100% acrylic; 256 yards [234 meters]/141 grams): #4601 Off White (A, 6 balls), #9520 Seafoam (B, 6 balls)
Hook: US size N/15 (10.0 mm) hook
Notions: Yarn needle

Pattern Notes

Half-double crochet cluster is worked over 2 consecutive stitches which could be 2 hdc, hdc cl and ch-1 space, or hdc cl and turning chain. Read instructions carefully for correct placement of this stitch.

Pattern

Throw

With A and B held together throughout, ch 89.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (88 hdc)
Rows 2-5: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), working in back loops only, hdc in each hdc to beginning ch, hdc in top of beginning ch, turn.
Row 6: Ch 2 (does not count as hdc), hdc cl in same st as beginning ch and next hdc, *ch 1, hdc cl in next 2 hdc; repeat from * to last hdc and beginning ch, hdc cl in last hdc and top of beginning ch, turn. (44 hdc cl and 44 ch-1 sps)
Rows 7-8: Ch 2 (does not count as hdc), hdc cl in first hdc cl and next ch, *ch 1, hdc cl in next hdc cl and ch; repeat from * to last hdc cl and beginning ch, hdc cl in last hdc cl and top of beginning ch, turn.
Row 9: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), skip first hdc cl, hdc in each ch and hdc cl to beginning ch, hdc in top of beginning ch, turn. (88 hdc)
Rows 10-13: Repeat Rows 2-5.
Rows 14-77: Repeat Rows 6-13 eight times, do not turn at end of Row 77.

Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 3 sc in ch, working across ends of rows, sc evenly spaced down first side to foundation ch; working across opposite side of foundation ch, 3 sc in first ch, sc in each ch to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; working across ends of rows, sc evenly spaced up 2nd side; 3 sc in first hdc of Row 77, sc in each hdc of Row 77; join with slip st to first sc, do not turn.
Rnd 2: Reverse sc in each sc. Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in ends.
