Ive been searching for a Autumn afghan to match a heirloom my daughter received from my parents estate. She put in her home as she did undergrad and graduate work. She is currently on 2nd yr of Master’s. I finally decided on this pattern to put in a chair she studies in. Thanks for sharing this s design.

I love this pattern and the colors are so pretty! I have a question about row 2. I’m stuck after you single crochet in chain 3 space then chain 2 and then you double crochet in the next 4 double crochets, I only see 3 double crochets. I’m not sure if I did something wrong in the first row or I’m not understanding the row 2 instructions. I’m still a little new to crocheting.

Hi i love this Afgan. I’m in the process of making it. But I was wondering my Wal-Mart here doesn’t sell the ranch red yarn. I have Red Cardinal yarn and cherry red which one is close in color to the ranch red i could use insted. I’d really appreciate the advice. Thank you Mrs Portia

Hi Portia! So glad you love this afghan! It looks to me like certain big box stores carry a variety of different colors. There are over 100 colors of Red Heart Super Saver so I can see why it might be hard to have them all in stock at the same time! I think the red colors that you have access too are also very fall-like and will work well. Happy crocheting! – Nicola

  • I love this afghan and the special stitches used. But I am a visual person and need either graphs or a video to understand how some stitches are done. And I don’t mind admitting that I don’t understand *skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, ch3, work 3 dc round post (vertical bar)of last dc made. Is that the dc made before the ch3? If there had been a name given for the stitch maybe I could have found a video on how it’s done but I don’t know what the stitch is called. Would really appreciate some help, want to use this pattern!
