A Note from the Editor
Summer means more than just a rise in temperature. It’s more than sipping ice teas on hot porches or taking a dip in a cool pool. It’s not just grilling season (though few things beat the taste of a juicy burger topped with cheese). Summertime is meant for building new memories. It’s a time where friends both new and old get together to relive the ventures of summer’s past.
This past weekend, I went on a mini road trip with three childhood friends. It had been several months since we were all together, but as soon as our journey began, it was like we had never been apart. The time in between our adventures didn’t matter. Stories picked up and flowed right where they had left off. We spent the majority of that weekend chatting by the poolside, sharing homemade grilled chicken wraps and catching up on one another’s lives. It was so easy.
Aren’t you ready for that type of summer? Whether you’re looking to relive great experiences or you’re ready to make some new ones, this selection of light, lacy and colorful patterns will help make this the most memorable summer to date. Adorn yourself with the Here Comes the Sun Vest before heading out to your next outdoor dinner. Learn how to crochet the cross stitch with this month’s Too Cool for (Stitch) School feature — plus, make the perfect beach tote after you master the cross stitch technique.
While I can’t predict what activities you’ll enjoy this summer, I can guarantee that you’ll love the way you look in this selection of summer-ready projects.
Happy crocheting,
