Cozy Heart Legwarmers

Cozy up to these heart legwarmers and stay warm the hearty way! These 100% wool legwarmers look great peeking out over slouchy boots and are a wonderful way to spread the love.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: Approx.13” x 10” (34 x 27 cm) before sewing

Gauge: Gauge not critical

Materials

Yarn: Drops Merino Extra Fine (100% wool; 115 yards [105 meters]/50 grams): #05 Light Grey Mix (A, 1 skein), #11 Red (B, 1 skein)
Hook: US size E/4 (3.5 mm) hook
Notions: Markers, tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

Keep in the mind that the legwarmers are stretching quite a lot, so the finished size of the leg warmer must be smaller than your leg actually is.
The sample is in size adult small/medium.
The legwarmers use the tapestry crochet technique, meaning you will be using two strands of yarn together, when working the heart! Keep the unused yarn at the back of your work and carry it along; otherwise you may work over your unused yarn until needed.
When changing colors, stitch up to 2 stitches before you are supposed to change colors. In the next stitch (the last one of your current color), do not pull the final loop through. Instead, loop the new color around your needle and pull the loop through. Now, just stitch as normal.

Assembly

Gather your piece and fold in middle with the right side facing you. Thread a yarn or tapestry needle with Yarn A, bring it through the first stitch from the wrong side of the fabric to the right side. On the opposite side of fabric, sew through the first stitch from the back to the front – mirroring the stitch on the first side. Continue with the next set of stitches, working each side back and forth and occasionally tightening your stitches. yarn ball

what does this pattern mean stitch two stitches before you change colors? Is this pattern done on the flat not circle?
