This scarf can be worn many ways and is easily adjustable with a buttoned loop.

The scarf is worked back and forth in rows. To finish, the edging will be added along the side.
Pattern
Using larger hook, ch 31.
Row 1: Turn, sc in the second chain from hook and in each ch across – 30 sts.
Row 2: Turn, ch 5 (counts as first dc, ch 2), sk 2 sts, *dc 3, ch 2, sk 2; repeat from * to last stitch, dc 2 in last stitches.
Row 3: Turn, ch 1, sc, ch 2, sk ch-2 sp, *sc 3, ch 2, sk ch-2 sp; repeat from * to last stitch, sc in last stitch.
Row 4: Repeat Row 3.
Rows 5-100: Repeat Rows 2-4. Do not fasten off.
Edging
Look at long edge. You will see sets of what looks like 3 rows clustered together in sections (Rows 2-4 repeats), you will use the middle row for each (dc, ch 3, dc).
Row 1: Using smaller hook and working down the long edge of scarf, ch 2, use the middle row of each set, (dc, ch 2, dc); repeat to end of scarf.
Row 2: Turn, sk the first (dc, ch 2, dc) set, *(dc 3, ch 3, dc 3) in next ch 2, sk 1 (dc, ch 2, dc) set; repeat from * to end, sl st to the last stitch to finish.
Button Section
Row 1: Using larger hook and working along short edge of scarf in rows, ch 1, sc in each stitch of Row 100 – 30 sts.
Rows 2-4: Turn, ch 1, sc in each stitch – 30 sts.
Row 5: Turn, ch 1, sc, sc dec, sc to last 3 sts, sc dec, sc in last stitch – 28 sts.
Rows 6-16: Turn, ch 1, sc, sc dec, sc to last 3 sts, sc dec, sc in last stitch. Each row will decrease by 2 stitches, ending with 6 sts remaining.
Rows 17-25: Turn, ch 1, sc in each stitch – 6 sts.
Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
Using tapestry needle, sew Row 25 to Row 1 of Button Section. Sew button over tab.
