Open Ocean Scarf

Luxury, lightweight silk-cotton-bamboo blend yarn gives cool comfort to this gorgeous lace scarf. Crocheted lengthwise and edged with an elegant scallop pattern, this breezy design is ideal for cooler spring days.

Size: 52” long x 6.5” wide

Gauge: 21 dc and 12 rows = 4” [10 cm].

Gauge is not critical for this design.

Light weight yarnYarn: Universal Yarn Bamboo Pop (52% Cotton, 48% Bamboo; 292 yards [276 meters]/100 grams): #106 turquoise (1 ball).

Hook: US size C/2 (2.75 mm).

Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Picot-3: Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook.

Puff stitch (puff st): Yo, insert hook into st or sp and pull up a lp, (yo, insert hook into same st and pull up a lp) twice, yo and pull through all 7 lps on hook.

Shell: (Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in indicated st or sp.

Tri-puff-group: [(Puff st, ch 2) twice, puff st] in indicated st or sp.

Triple picot: [Picot, (ch 3, sl st in same ch) twice] in indicated stitch.

V2-stitch (V2-st): (Dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated st or sp.

V5-stitch (V5-st): (Dc, ch 5, dc) in indicated st or sp.

Finishing

With RS facing, join with sl st to top corner of left short edge, ch 1, work (6 sc, picot) evenly spaced along left short edge, bottom and right short edge.

Fasten off.

Wet or steam block Scarf to finished measurements.

Weave in loose ends.
