Inserting hook from RS to WS through any ch-4 sp on short end of scarf, carefully pull loop through. Draw the loose ends of yarn through the loop and pull to tighten loop. Rep in each ch-4 sp on both short ends of scarf. Trim fringe if needed to even the cut ends.
