As spring approaches and breathes new life into our gardens, what better way to celebrate than creating a light and airy scarf? Have fun choosing three of your favorite colors to crochet this scarf which is worked on the bias.

Size: 6″ wide x 94″ long
Gauge: 17 sts and 10 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc
Materials
Yarn: Louet Gems Fingering Weight (100% Merino; 185 yards [169 meters]/50 grams): 1702 White (MC, 2 skeins), 1392 Fern Green (CC1, 1 skein), 1072 Blush (CC2, 1 skein)
Hook: US size 7 (4.5 mm)
Notions: Tapestry needle
Special Stitches
Shell: 3 dc in indicated ch-sp.
Triangle: Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in last ch.
Pattern Notes
The scarf is worked from end to end on the bias. A triangle edging is worked on the sides and ends of the piece.
To change yarn color, work to end of Row 3 leaving 3 loops on hook. Yarn over hook with the new color and pull through all 3 loops on hook. Turn and work Row 2 with the new color. Break the previous color, leaving a tail to weave in later.
Stripe Section
The Stripe Section is worked 4 times throughout the length of the scarf. Work each Stripe Section as follows:
Using CC1, work Rows 4-5, 3 times.
Using MC, work Rows 4-5 once.
Using CC2, work Rows 4-5 once.
Using MC, work Rows 4-5 once.
Using CC1, work Rows 4-5, 3 times.

With MC, ch 50.
Row 1: Hdc in 6th ch from hook, ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in next ch, (ch 3, sk next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in next ch) 7 times, turn. (7 ch-3 sp)
Row 2: Ch 4, (shell in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, sc in ch-1 sp, ch 2) 7 times, shell in tch, turn. (8 shells)
Row 3: Ch 5, sk first 2 dc, hdc in next dc, (ch 3, hdc in next dc, ch 1, sk next dc, hdc in next dc) 7 times, turn.
