Gloria the Angel Bear Amigurumi

Gloria is about 8” tall and will look cute sitting on your child’s bedside table for evening prayers. This is an easy pattern and would be a great project for a last-minute gift.

Gloria the Angel Bear Amigurumi

Size: Bear is 8“tall

Gauge: Rnds 1-4 = 2”

Materials

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (Art. E300)100% Acrylic 7oz (460 yds, 198 gms) Pattern uses about 3 oz. of Aran (#313), small amount of Gold (#321),  Buff (#334), Black (#312)  about 3 yds for facial features; Red Heart Soft (Art. E728) 100% acrylic 5 oz. (256 yds, 234m) White #4600) for dress

Hook: US size G/6 (4.00mm)

Notions: tapestry needle, Polyfiber stuffing, stitch marker

Note: Do not join rounds unless specified, use a stitch marker in first stitch of each round and move it up as you work

Pattern

Head and body

Rnd 1: With Aran, Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join rounds, use stitch marker at start of each rnd

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)

Rnd 3: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next. Repeat around (18 sc)

Rnd 4: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc. Repeat around (24 sc)

Rnd 5: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc. Repeat around (30 sc)

Rnd 6: 2 sc in net sc, sc in next 4 sc. Repeat around (36 sc)

Rnds 7-12: Sc in each sc around. Stuff firmly with polyfil as work progresses

Rnd 13: Dec 1 sc, sc in next 4 sc. Repeat around. (30 sc)

Rnd 14: Dec 1 sc, sc in next 3 sc. Repeat around. (24 sc)

Rnd 15: Dec around (12 sc)

Rnd 16: Sc in each sc around (12).  Now you will begin increasing for the body

Rnd 17: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat around (18)

Rnd 18: Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat around (24)

Rnd 19: Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next sc .Repeat around (30)

Rnd 20: Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat around (36)

Rnd 21: Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat around (42)

Rnds 22-30: Sc in each sc around. Continue to stuff bear as you work.

Rnd 31: Sc in next 5, dec over next 2 sc. Repeat around (36)

Rnd 32: Sc in next 4 sc, dec. Repeat around (30)

Rnd 33: Sc in next 3, dec. Repeat around (24)

Rnd 34: Sc in next 2 sc, dec. Repeat around (18)

Rnd 35: Sc in next, dec. Repeat around (12)

Rnd 36: Dec around (6).Fasten off leaving length of yarn to close opening.

Legs and arms: Make 4

With buff, Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (12). Fasten off

Rnd 3: With aran, sc in BLO around (12)

Rnds 4-14: Sc around. Fasten off, leaving yarn to sew to body. Stuff firmly

Ears: Make 2

With buff, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook .Do not join. Fasten off.

Row 2: With aran, 2 sc in each sc. Fasten off and sew to head using photo as a guide.

Muzzle: With Aran, work rnds 1-3 same as head.

Rnd 4: BLO, sc around

Rnds 5-6: Sc around. Fasten off leaving length of yarn to sew in place. Stuff and stitch in place.

Wings

With gold, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (30sc)

Row 2: Working in BLO, dec 1 sc, sc across, dec over last 2 sc (28 sc)

Rows 3-9: Repeat row 2. (26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16,14sc)

Fasten off. Tie around center of wing to gather. Tack in place.

Halo

Ch 30, Sl st to form a ring, sc around working over the chain. Join with sl st.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 3 sc.

Rows 3-4: Repeat row 2. Fasten off. Tack halo in place.

Dress

With white, Ch 54. Join with sl st to form a ring

Rnd 1:  Ch 4, tr in each ch around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 2: (2 dc, ch2, 2dc) in next tr, skip 2 tr. Repeat around.

Rnd 3: (2dc, ch2, 2 dc) in each ch 2 space around.  Fasten off.

For bodice

Attach yarn to opposite side of starting ch, Dc in 12 sts, Ch 3, turn.

Rows 2-3: Dc in each dc across. Fasten off.

Tie

Ch 30, sc across bodice top, ch 30. Fasten off. Tie at back of bear’s neck. Weave a length of yarn through stitches of rnd 1, starting at center front. Tie in bow at front of dress.

Nose

With Black, ch 4, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch, sc in chain on opposite side of starting ch. Fasten off. Sew nose in place using photo as a guide. Embroider features using photo as a guide.
