These vintage-inspired leg warmers are just what you need to keep your legs warm this winter, especially if you don’t want to give up on dresses and skirts. These intermediate leg warmers feature a set of buttons down the sides and a delicate scalloped lace edging.

Size: Adult Small = 10 ½ inches wide, 13 ½ inches in length; Adult Large = 12 inches wide, 13 ½ inches in length
Gauge: 4 sts x 5 rows in Half Double Crochet = 1”

Drops Paris (100% cotton; 82 yards [75 meters]/50 grams): #17 Off White (1 ball), #26 Dark Beige (2 balls)
Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm) hook
Notions: Tapestry/yarn needle, scissors, 14 Wooden Buttons – 0.6″ x 0.6″
Pattern Notes
To have the buttons featured on the alternate side of your leg warmer for the other leg, you’ll need to switch crocheting the button flaps on the opposite side than on the first leg warmer.
Overlap the ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ button flap. Then sew 1 button beneath each button hole.

Using dark beige yarn, ch 40 (46).
Row 1: 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next st, ch 2, then crochet 1 sc in the same st. *Skip 2 sts. 1 sc in next stitch, ch 2, then crochet 1 sc in same st. Repeat from the * 12 (14) times. 1 hdc in next/last st.
Row 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in same st. *3 dc in “Ch 2” space you made in the previous row. Repeat from the * 13 (15) times. 1 dc in last st.
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st. Skip 1 st. 1 sc in next st, ch 2, then crochet 1 sc in same st. *Skip 2 sts. 1 sc in next st, ch 2, then crochet 1 sc in same st. Repeat from the * 12 (14) times. Skip 1 st. 1 hdc in next/last st.
Rows 4-30: Repeat rows 2-3.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
Bottom Button Flap
Attach dark beige yarn along one of the sides/edges of rows 1-30 above.
Row 1: Ch 1, crochet 43 sc all along the edge. Turn your work.
Rows 2-3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 42 sts.
Fasten off, weave in loose ends.
Top Button Flap
Attach dark beige yarn along the OTHER side/edge of rows 1-30 above.
Row 1: Ch 1, crochet 43 sc all along the edge. Turn your work.
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 2 sts. Ch 1, skip 1 st. 1 sc in next 5 sts. Ch 1, skip 1 st. Repeat from the * 6 times. 1 sc in next 3 sts.
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 42 sts/ch.
Fasten off, weave in loose ends.
Lace Border
Attach cream yarn to the top of the leg warmers (row 30).
Row 1: Ch 1, crochet 47 (56) sc all along the edge.
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 2 (4) sts. *1 sl st in next st, ch 4, then sl st in same st again. 1 sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from the * 8 (9) times. Sl st in next st, ch 4, then sl st in same st again. 1 sc in next 3 (5) sts.
Fasten off, weave in loose ends.
Do you decrease at all on this pattern, because the calf is larger then the ankle, so should I be decreasing and if so what row should I start.
