This crochet necklace is a stylish U-shaped necklace that pairs effortlessly with any top or dress. Festive Berry can be made with scrap yarn and is quick and easy to make.

 Knit Picks Comfy Sport (75% pima cotton, 25% acrylic; 136 yards [124 meters]/50 grams): #25762 Fairy Tale (1 ball)

Hook: US size F/5 (3.75 mm) hook

Notions: Tapestry needle, scissors, white glue, plastic wrap, jump rings, jewelry chain, jewelry clasp, pliers, cardboard for blocking

V-st: (dc, ch 3, dc) in same st.
Shell: (dc 4, ch 4, dc 4) in same ch sp.
Big Shell: (dc 4, ch 4, sl st in second ch from hook, ch 2, dc 4) in same ch sp.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked in rows from the top down. The piece is then stiffened with a glue mixture and attached to a jewelry chain.

Ch 38.
Row 1: 2 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 35 sts, 2 sc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 4, dc in first st, (sk 2 sts, V-st in next st) 5 times, sk 3, (V-st, ch 3, V-st) in next st, sk 3, (sk 2 sts, V-st in next st) 5 times, sk 2 sts, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last st.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first ch sp, (Shell in next ch sp, sc in next ch sp) 3 times, Big Shell in next ch sp, sc in next ch sp, (Shell in next ch sp, sc in next ch sp) 3 times.
Fasten off.

Finishing

Sew in all ends.
Mix a quarter cup of water with an equal amount of white glue and pour into a shallow dish. Dip the necklace in the glue mixture, making sure both sides of the necklace are covered in the glue mixture.
Lay the necklace flat on a piece of cardboard covered in a sheet of plastic wrap, pinning into shape if necessary. Let dry for at least 4 hours.
Cut the jewelry chain in half and attach an open jump ring to the non-clasp end of each half. Attach one open jump ring to the last sc of Row 3 and close the jump ring. Attach the other open jump ring to the first sc of Row 3 and close the jump ring.
