Materials
Yarn: Perfection Chunky by Kraemer (70% acrylic, 30% merino; 120 yards [110 meters]/100 grams): Daisy (A, less than 10 yards), Rose Hip (B, less than 20 yards), Evening Song (C, less than 20 yards)
Hook: US size I/9 (5.5 mm) hook
Pattern
Headband
With A, ch 100, fasten off.
With B, join with a single crochet 15 chains from the end of the beginning chain row. Sc in each of the next 5 chains, ch 70, sc in 15th chain from the other end of the beginning chain. Sc in each of the next 5 chains, fasten off.
Repeat previous instructions but use C and work on the opposite side of the beginning chain. Weave in all ends.
Flower
With B, chain 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc into 2nd ch from hook, sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc into each sc, sl st into first sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc into front of loop of each sc, sl st into first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc into each sc, sl st into first sc.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc into first sc, ch 2 (sc into next sc, ch 2) 11 times, sl st to first sc.
With C, join yarn to the back loop of any stitch from rd 3.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc into same place, (ch 2, sc into back of loop of each of next 2 sc) around, ch 2, sc into back of loop of last sc, sl st to first sc.
Rnd 7: Sl st into first ch 2 sp, *(ch 1, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, ch 1) all into ch 2 space, sl st between next 2 sc; rep from * around. Fasten off, weave in ends.
With A, chain 2 (leave a long tail). Work 6 sc into the 2nd ch from hook, sl st to first sc. Fasten off leaving a long tail.
Assembly
Pull the two long tails of the small circle just made through the center of the flower. Tie a knot to secure and then use the tails to attach the flower to the headband. This can be sewn on using a tapestry needle, or just tied around the headband to offer more options for later (remove the flower or place it in a different spot).
