For the Bottle Rattle use the US size I/9 (5.5 mm) hook and CA, CC, CD, and CF. Insert the jingle bell in the plastic egg and seal tightly.

Bread (Make Two)
Row 1: With CE, ch 18, skip 1 ch, sc in the remaining 17 chs; turn. (17 sts)
Rows 2-16: Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn. (17 sts)
Row 17: Ch 1, sc in the 1st st, *hdc in the next 2 sts, dc in the next 3 sts, dc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next st; repeat from * once, break yarn and finish off.
Crust Edge
With CF, sc evenly along edges of bread, working a sc3tog in center of Row 17.
Repeat for 2nd bread, leaving a long tail on one piece for assembly later. Use CF to stitch smiley face into one of the bread pieces as shown.
Lettuce (Make One)
Rnd 1: With CB, make a magic circle, dc 12 in the ring; join with a sl st to work in the round. Pull circle tight to close. (12 sts)

Assembly
Sew crinkled material to wrong side corners of bottom bread, so that the material bulges in the center. Do not sew all the way around.
Layer the pieces together: bottom bread (crinkle up), lettuce, top bread (smile up).
Using CF tail and a yarn needle, sew pieces together through all 3 layers, being sure to tuck crinkle material inside the toy.
