With simple amigurumi crochet techniques, you can make these cute little critters to join you for Halloween. This cat and ghost amigurumi set makes a great special addition for a night of trick-or-treating.

Gauge: Gauge not necessary for this project
Materials
Yarn:
Red Heart With Love (100 % acrylic; 370 yards [234 meters]/198 grams): #1001 White (1 skein), #1012 Black (1 skein)
Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm) hook
Notions: Tapestry needle, polyester stuffing, small amount of pink felt, pink embroidery thread, pink sewing thread, black pipe cleaner, googly eyes – 5/8” (2) and ½” (2), industrial strength craft glue
Abbreviations
Sc2tog: (Insert hook into next st, YO, draw up a lp) twice; YO, pull through all 3 lps on hook.
Sc3tog: (Insert hook into next st, YO, draw up a lp) three times; YO, pull through all 4 lps on hook.
Pattern Notes
Do not join end of rounds with a sl st unless otherwise stated.
Mark beginning of each round with a stitch marker and move up as start each round.
Ghost is worked from neck down first and then from neck up.
Each project (and all body parts) are assembled using a tapestry needle and matching yarn unless otherwise stated.
If giving projects to a child under age 3, use safety eyes instead of googly eyes and sew on all felt pieces.
Ghost Pattern
Body
Ch 16.
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. Bring this end and starting end together. (15 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in 1st st (joining both ends to make a tube); (Sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) twice; sc in next 4 sts. (18 sc)
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) three times. (21 sc)
Rnd 6: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 7: (Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) four times around; sc in last st. (17 sc)
Rnd 8: (Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts) four times around; sc in last st. (13 sc)
Rnd 9: (2sc in next st, sc in next st) around ending with sc in last st. (19 sc)
Rnds 10-11: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 12: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) twice; sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. (22 sc)

Rnds 18-19: Rep Round 3.

Head
Rnd 1: Now working in Round 1 of Ghost Body, join with sc to last sc of Round 1, sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog, sc in last st. (13 sc)
Rnd 2: Sc in next 10 sts; Turn leaving remaining stitches unworked.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, sc in next 5 sts. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in last st. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, sc3tog, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sts in last st. Fasten off with long tail.
Arms (Make Two)
Ch 9. Join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Sc in each ch around. (9 sc)
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 3: (Sc2tog, sc in next st) around. (6 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc2tog) three times. Fasten off. (3 sc)
Bottom Circle
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in an adjustable ring.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) six times. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next 4 sts) twice. Fasten off with a long tail.
Finishing
Stuff head to neck; Sew up top of head and put a running stitch around neck – pull stitching to tighten and give definition to neck; Knot yarn and weave in ends.
Stuff bottom half and sew on bottom circle just inside the last row.
Stuff each arm and sew on to sides of body using photo as a guide.
Glue googly eyes (1/2”) to head.
Embroider smile using tapestry needle and Black yarn – refer to photo for placement.
Cat Pattern
Body
With Black ch 11. Sl st in 1st chain to form ring.
Rnd 1: Sc in each ch around; join with sl st to 1st st. (11 sc)
Rnd 2: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) around ending with 2 sc in next st, sc in last st. Do not join. (15 sc)
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) around. (20 sc)
Rnd 6: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 7: Rep Round 5 ending with sc in each of last 2 sts. (26 sc)
Rnd 8: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 9: Rep Round 7.
Rnds 10-13: Rep Round 3.
Rnd 14: (Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) around ending with sc in each of last 2 sts.

Stuff body with Polyester stuffing.

Tail
Ch 5. Sl st in 1st ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: Sc in 1st ch and in each ch around. (5 sc)
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.
Rep Round 2 until tail measures 7 ½”. Fasten off.
Ears (Make Two)
Ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. Turn. (4 sc)
Row 2: (Sc2tog) twice. Turn.
Row 3: Sc2tog.
Turn.
Ear Edging
Ch 1, sc in last st just made, sc around entire ear; join with sl st to 1st sc of edging. Fasten off.
Finishing
Sew Bottom Circle onto bottom of body.
Finish stuffing body and head.
Sew head to body at neck securely.
Stuff legs and arms and sew to body using photo as a guide.
Cut 2 small triangles of felt and sew to ears using pink sewing thread and needle.
Sew ears to head– refer to photo for placement.
Using pink embroidery thread add facial details and toe details.
Glue on eyes, nose and paw details (use photo as a guide for size and shape of pink felt for nose and paws).
Bend over ¼” on each end of pipe cleaner cut to 7”.
Insert into tail and sew tail to bottom of body and mid-back on back.
